Genicon Receives Prestigious President’s “E Star” Award

On behalf of Genicon, our District Export Council members and exporting experts Gary Haberland, CEO, and Olga Haberland, Business Dev. & Marketing Officer of Genicon, accepted the prestigious President’s E-Star Award for exporting.

In total, this year Secretary of Commerce Wilbur Ross honored only 6 U.S. companies with the President’s “E-Star” Award, the highest recognition any U.S. entity can receive for making a significant contribution to the expansion of U.S. exports.

“GENICON has demonstrated a sustained commitment to export expansion. The “E” Awards Committee was very impressed with GENICON’s growth in employment tied to exports since receiving the President’s “E” Award for Exports in 2014. The company’s commitment to increased export market development despite encountering challenging trade barriers was also particularly notable. GENICON’s achievements have undoubtedly contributed to national export expansion efforts that support the U.S. economy and create American jobs,” said Secretary Ross in his congratulatory letter to the company announcing its selection as an award recipient.

GENICON is recognized as an emerging leader in the design, production, and distribution of patented surgical instrumentation focused exclusively on laparoscopic surgery, its product line includes: Single Use Access Ports, Specimen Retrieval Bags, Lavage, Ligation and Mono-Polar/ Bipolar Instrumentation .

American companies are nominated for “E” Awards through the U.S. and Foreign Commercial Service office network, located within the U.S. Department of Commerce’s International Trade Administration. Record years of successive export growth and an applicant’s demonstration of an innovative international marketing plan that led to the increase in exports is a significant factor in selecting the overall winners.
