Trade Markets affected: All

Measure: On July 6 (see CNFL Trade Bulletin 2021-21), the Department of Commerce sought comments on the information collected by the International Trade Administration’s (ITA) Global Markets/U.S. Commercial Service (CS).  This comment period has been extended by an additional 30 days.

Why this matters: The CS offers a variety of services to enable clients to begin exporting/importing or to expand existing exporting/importing efforts.  U.S. companies conveniently access and indicate their interest in these services by completing the appropriate forms via ITA and CS U.S. Export Assistance Center websites.  This information collection is designed to elicit such data so that appropriate services can be proposed and conducted to most effectively meet the client’s exporting goals. Without these forms the USCS is unable to provide services when requested by clients.

Public Comments: Comments must be submitted by October 16thAdditional details are available in the Federal Register notice.

More information: A copy of the Federal Register notice – which includes details on how to submit comments – is available online here and in PDF format below.

Potential action: If your company and/or clients have any concerns regarding the forms collected by the CS or have ideas on how to enhance the quality, utility or clarity of the information to be collected, then this is the opportunity to have your/their voice heard.  The DEC Trade Policy Committee would appreciate you sharing with us as well any information or views you submit in response to this request for comments in order that we might better understand and represent Central and North Florida trade policy priorities and concerns.  The DEC is also prepared to work with you in preparing those comments.
